Learning is most efficient and enjoyable if the student knows what music sounds and feels like before beginning to play it.
While the teacher plays and sings the piece, the student can sing, hum, and/or clap along for enough repetitions that the
melody and rythms are fully absorbed. In cases where the notation may be too advanced for the student, these pieces can be
taught partially or entirely by rote, one phrase at a time. Alway's encourage the student to sing/hum along while learning
to play the piece.
If the student is inspired to compose, a Composition Notebook is available. It includes tips for facilitating musical
creativity.
