I listened to my mom playing the piano from the time I was born, and I always wanted to play just like her. My first memories of playing come from when I was less than two years old. I would stand in front of the piano and reach up to play the keys, which were above my head. I started lessons when I was five. I love to improvise at the the piano and I am arranging Pachelbel's Canon for a band at school.
I like to listen to all kinds of music - jazz, hip-hop, rock and roll, pop and classical. If I had to choose three recordings to take to a desert island (along with my walkman and headphones) they would be - the Shrek soundtrack, Now7, and Ravel's Bolero. My other interests include ballet, which I have studied since I was five, school chorus, and I am also a girl scout. I love to read and write and have written many stories. My favorite of my own compositions from my book, Magnificent Music, are "Teddy Bear", and "Traveling Through Magnificent Music". Right now I am learning to play "Perdido", a song by Duke Ellington.
